This morning I was listening to the Minnesota Public Radio Midmorning podcast. In particular, I was listening to a discussion of the topic “New polls indicates a dim view of U.S. scientific achievement” (listen to it here). The short of it is, there is a new poll that found (surprise!) the vast majority [...]

Helium Lunatics
Today I received an email from the website Helium informing me that I had been granted “Premier Writer” status. I thought this odd since I had only written three articles on the site. Apparently the fact that those articles were well reviewed by Helium users had granted me the coveted “Premier Writer” badge. Yippee!!

The Palin/Couric Interview
From the “you can’t make this stuff up” department:
Couric: You’ve cited Alaska’s proximity to Russia as part of your foreign policy experience. What did you mean by that?

Obama
If I vote, I’ll likely still vote for Obama, but I’ve lost my faith in him. I do not believe he is going to bring the change we need. He’s probably a better choice than a senile warmongering liar like McCain but he’s not going to restore this country to what it was [...]
God As I Knew Him – Part 2
In Part 1 of my series on my evolving relationship with God I explained that as a child God was basically my supernatural defender. I counted on him to keep the demons at bay and help me not to have bad dreams. This changed, however, when I had my first encounters with sexual [...]
