OK, I have this hat that I love. It was given to me when I was supposed to go on a Sutter brothers fishing trip. I didn’t make it on the trip, but I got the hat and I treasure it because I will probably never be allowed on the trip again because my dad’s religion would dictate that he can’t go on the trip with me.

See? That’s me with my hat. Here’s another:

Tragically, At some point in the last 7-8 months, I lost my hat. It just disappeared. I’ve searched everywhere for it to no avail. The hat has been gone and it has made me quite sad.

Here is a picture of Syd wearing the same hat:

… and my dad wearing one like it …

Tonight Esther wanted Indian food and we went to a place that we sometimes go, The Sambol in Eagan. We ate and it was yummy (I won’t go all restaurant reviewy here, but it was quite good) and while we were up at the front counter paying the bill I looked to my left and noticed a green hat hanging there. I only saw that it was a green hat. I couldn’t see the front, but I suddenly found myself thinking it looked like my Team Sutter hat, which was of course, absurd. But, I kept looking at it and finally I said, “Hey, that looks like my Team Sutter hat” and Esther said, “Why don’t you go look at it?” so I did and lo and behold… it was!!! My missing hat had been at the Sambol restaurant in Eagan for maybe 8 months and I would have never thought to look for it there. It was nearly a miracle that I happened to look at a hat that happened to be green and it happened to remind me of my hat and Esther happened to suggest I check it out and it was indeed my missing hat!

Here I am, reunited with the hat:
