So, I haven’t been writing much here over the last few weeks in large part because I’ve been working on finishing a few other things. I am finishing recording an album and also working on a book that I was going to call “Hira Hira” but decided recently to change to “You’ve Changed My Life. Thanks… I Think.” which will be a collection of writings about leaving religion, reason/faith, personal experiences of my life over the last year, some biographical stuff related to growing up JW and assorted other relevant things (some of which has been on this blog and much of which has not). I’m trying to get some sort of feel for whether or not anybody here would be interested in such a book or would be interested in helping me find a publisher for it. I am a published author, but in the field of Java and HTML, not in religion, so I don’t really know what I’m doing…

I am fascinated!!! When I read your post on talkorigins from two years ago I nearly fell out of my chair! It was, like, that could have been written by me!! (with some minor exceptions) I had decided to do honest research about the antiquity of humankind, seeing that evidence for humans being older than 6,000 years is spotty and questionable. Instead, not only did my faith in Jehovah crumble, I also found evidence that Noah's Flood was impossible. Now my path in life is more along the lines of secular humanist (www.cfiflorida.org ) and Buddhist (www.plumvillage.org).
My problem: I haven't left yet. The last time I tried I nearly had a nervous breakdown. All my friends and family are JWs and the thought of leaving them, especially my beloved sister and breaking my wife's heart, well, is scary! True, I've got those two directions to go to but I just want to ask: How did you deal with it, leaving everything you know and understand? Did you need psychiatric help like I do now or what???? Please answer. TRhanks!!

I would proof your book, but I wouldn't buy it. In fact, I'd expect that you'd send me a copy when it was done. But then, I expected that you'd call me once in a blue moon, too.
