I am writing this on American Airlines flight 1045 (I think) from Chicago to Miami. I am sitting next to a window, out of which I can see small patches of lights indicated the cities and towns of the midwest. To my right, Amanda reads a magazine and wears headphones, listening to music or maybe the TV broadcast that is being shown. We are both hoping that there is a feature movie shown, (which would be “Legally Blonde” if anything).
I have my little tray table and my Coke and my personal little light and i am thinking to myself, “I love flying.” I really wish that this was an even longer flight than it is, but Chicago to MIami is only about 2 1/2 hours. Dang.
Interesting things I have to note about this flight. We have a flight attendant who looks an awful lot like Ben Folds. Also, there is a man sitting in the row in front and to the right of us that I think looks like a cross between Rodney Dangerfield and Ray Liotta (an amazing combination, if you think about it). Other things to note… I heard the people behind me saying that if you wanted to see the true difference between canine and feline, all you had to do was leave them for a trip. I’m not sure what that meant. I have a couple of novels to read on the trip. The 27th City by Jonathan Franzen and Kavalier and Clay by MIchael Chabon. I started the latter and then switched to the former. I like the 27th City the most so far.
By the time we get to our hotel tonight, we will have traveled something like 11 hours. That’s a long day of traveling. But, we’ll wake up to a 76 degree sunny beach tomorrow, so it’s worth it. Woo-hoo!!!!!
